ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in grief, loss, and life transitions. I work with diverse clients experiencing many kinds of losses, as well as clients coping with chronic and life altering illness. I started my counseling career in hospice work, and for nearly a decade, I provided grief counseling at Hospice of the Valley in San Jose, CA. I am certified in Thanatology, the study of death, dying and bereavement, through the Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).

I have a compassionate, direct, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy. My style is both eclectic and practical. I help my clients build positive coping skills focusing on their individual strengths, incorporating meditation, mindfulness and expressive arts. My clinical approach is strongly informed by my personal experience of loss and living with a chronic illness. I do not believe ‘everything happens for a reason’, but I know hope and healing can be found even amid life’s most devastating challenges.
